Microsoft Fabric

Microsoft Fabric: one data platform behind the reporting and AI you rely on.

Microsoft Fabric is Microsoft's unified data platform — it brings data engineering, warehousing and Power BI together on one foundation, so reporting and AI are built on a single governed copy of your data instead of duplicated exports.

Plain English

What is Microsoft Fabric?

A SaaS data platform that combines data integration, a lakehouse/warehouse, and Power BI in one environment. Instead of separate tools for moving data, storing it and reporting on it, it's one platform with one security model.

Scope

What we build with Microsoft Fabric.

Every engagement is scoped to a specific process. These are the components that make up the work.

01

Consolidated data pipelines

Bringing ERP, CRM and operational sources into a single lakehouse instead of scattered exports.

02

A governed semantic layer

Power BI and Copilot-based AI both draw from the same definitions, so numbers agree everywhere they appear.

03

Foundations for AI use cases

Clean, structured data in place before an AI use case is attempted, not after it stalls.

Is this you?

Signals that this is the right place to start.

If two or more of these are true, there is usually a measurable case for change.

  • Growing data volume is outgrowing spreadsheet-based reporting
  • Multiple disconnected Power BI models show inconsistent numbers
  • AI ambitions are blocked by messy or duplicated data

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Do we need Microsoft Fabric if we already use Power BI?

Not always. Fabric matters once data volume or complexity outgrows a single Power BI model — when you need a consolidated data platform behind several reports and, increasingly, AI use cases.

Is Fabric a replacement for our data warehouse?

It can be, or it can sit alongside one. We assess your current data estate before recommending a migration — replacing a working warehouse isn't the default answer.
