Copilot Studio
Copilot Studio: AI agents that work inside your existing workflows.
Copilot Studio is Microsoft's platform for building conversational and autonomous AI agents — grounded in your own data, deployed inside Teams, your website or an existing workflow, with the same governance controls as the rest of Power Platform.
Plain English
What is Copilot Studio?
A low-code tool for building AI agents that can answer questions, look up information and take defined actions, using your own data sources rather than the open internet. It sits inside the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform governance model, so what the agent can access and do is explicitly controlled.
Scope
What we build with Copilot Studio.
Every engagement is scoped to a specific process. These are the components that make up the work.
01
Agents grounded in your own data
Documents, Dataverse tables or line-of-business systems — not generic web knowledge.
02
Human-in-the-loop handoff
Anything outside the agent's defined confidence or scope escalates to a person, rather than guessing.
03
Agents embedded in existing workflows
Handling one specific step — triage, lookup, drafting — inside a Power Automate flow, rather than as a standalone chatbot nobody uses.
04
Governance and logging
So agent actions can be reviewed and explained to auditors and customers.
Is this you?
Signals that this is the right place to start.
If two or more of these are true, there is usually a measurable case for change.
- Staff repeatedly answer the same category of question
- AI has been discussed but no use case has been scoped or costed
- Teams want AI without sending company data to a public model
- An existing workflow has one step that needs judgement, not just rules
FAQ
Questions we get asked.
Does an agent built in Copilot Studio send our data to the public internet?
No. Agents are grounded in the data sources you connect — internal documents, Dataverse or line-of-business systems — within your organisation's existing Microsoft 365 security boundary.
What happens when the agent doesn't know the answer?
A properly scoped agent recognises low-confidence cases and hands off to a person rather than answering anyway. We design that handoff path as part of the build.
